I visited Afrikana for the first time today with my son, the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant the service was amazing, I was welcomed by the manager who seated us very quickly. The music, the atmosphere, the staff all so welcoming. Now I have to tell you about our server JESS she was very patient very friendly and very nice she recommended a few dishes to me. For starters we had sticky wings, mac and cheese, for main I went for the "plenty more fish" let me tell you so tasty and they definitely get 10/10 for not leaving the skin I hate skin. For dessert I had the chocolate mouse cake which was recommended by Jess and was not disappointing at all. The only negative I had was there isn't one local to me. The food the atmosphere the staff all amazing. I will 100% going there again and trying out different dishes. So flavoursome. Thank you Jess for making my experience so nice today see you again soon. Literally no complaints. Nothing.

I live in the area and walk past it daily. Located in Kingsland road, just between Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland overground stations, opposite Kingsland Shopping Centre and Ridley road market. It’s always busy but elegant, with a very good deco taste. Been in a few weeks back and I absolutely loved the food and the drinks. Amazing African tastes and cheeky menu to pick the flavours of my preference. Not cheap but not expensive either. I think a reasonable bill expects you at the end of your meals. Staff are attentive but a bit moody. Clientele ranges from young to late 40’s. Toilets are clean and accessible. The restaurant is clean and quite welcoming. Tables are spacious and arranged in just-about-right distance between them. Quite inclusive in terms of backgrounds and heritage. I think it’s a great restaurant for dates, catch-ups with friends and saw some families with babies too. Overall, it was a very positive experience and definitely a place to go back to. I’d recommend it to anyone without a doubt.

Afrikana was a very lively and vibrant place, the decor was lovely and it was really clean. We were impressed with the food and the drinks and it was worth every penny, I can't wait to go back again. I would highly recommend if you want a filling and tasty meal. The food was in large portions, and was cooked to perfection. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars was because although we arrived early for our booking, we still had to wait another 20 minutes or so to get a seat in the restaurant (we went on a Saturday night at 9pm, so quite busy).

Tasty Food: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Good variety: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Service was slightly slow: ⭐️ ⭐️ Seating is practical for small & large groups. MUST TRY: The starters stood out for me. The halloumi sticks were worth a try, they were soft & delicious. 🌟 To end the meal with a dessert, hits the spot! The desserts were mouthwatering. Would definitely want to visit again just for those desserts! 🧁

Been here about 3 times since they opened. It’s a nice place to go with family or friends. Very nice decor, reasonably priced and decent food. A few dishes weren’t amazing (prawns tasted rubbery which is a sign they may have been frozen), a dish called what cheese said was very tough. But certain dishes were good, Afrikana fries are excellent. Good for a safe ish option in east London. Just remember to book, they are very popular.
