The best croissant in all of Manchester, maybe even the UK. The pistachio one is incredibly good and flavorful. We also tried the lemon one, which is definitely worth it too. The place itself is very pleasant, especially on sunny days

I bought a pistachio stuffed cookie for £4. It was very tasty and massive however as the cookie was put in a brown paper bag the pistachio on the top was ruined by time I got home. If a small box was provided I would definitely pay a bit more to cover the cost. I have been here 4 times on different days and times and can never get a seat to eat. If I was able to get a seat I would’ve bought a coffee preferably an iced coffee with some pistachio added to complement the taste of the cookie 🤭

I had some bakery from here which were nice. The most disappointing is the coffee. The kind you get from Starbucks. Staff don’t seem to be well informed on the coffee side of the business as much as they’re probably are on the bakery. Nowadays you’ll find a small card on the coffee grinder saying exactly where the beans come from and what roast they are. It helps customers decide whether they want to purchase a coffee from a said place or not. I genuinely thought £3 for a coffee is fairly priced because there are no actual indoor seatings but it turned out it’s not something that you really invest in. Safe to say I couldn’t drink it and got one from round the corner. Waste of £3 but I learnt not to go cheap lol

AMAZING! I bought the caramel pistachio cruffin, pistachio croissant, and Brazilian sausage roll. All of them were delicious but I'd say the cruffin was too sweet and didn't have much pistachio. I'd recommend that they did a pistachio and chocolate one instead! The Brazilian sausage could of had cut up evenly dispersed sausage. However, the pistachio croissant was the best, with a generous actual pistachio cream and brilliant croissant that was light! The queue was also abit ridiculous, maybe they should have a separate city centre location just to sell and spread people.

These cruffins have been a real comfort. The Flat Baker has been a quiet highlight in my week. I’ve been dealing with a few personal challenges recently, and taking one of their incredible cruffins to go — then heading down to the marina — has become a small but grounding ritual of care. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets flavour, texture, and comfort just right in one bite — but they do. Grateful to have this place close by.
