Only gave Charlie's another chance because the incredible Urmston Fish Bar was closed. I regret my decision. The place should be called 'Just waiting for Chips' Service is so slow and it's always beem same excuse of waiting for chips. Surely as a chippy, you would consistently have chips on the go. I'm writing this before I've even eaten them, let's hope they are the same average quality as they used to be. I wouldn't mind but no heed of apologies is given. Give Charlie's a miss and try somewhere else... *UPDATE* AFTER RESPONSE. The lack of apology for having to wait nearly 25 minutes for chips was my main concern and that was not addressed on the day nor by the owners reply. Sad really. The response mentioned they used the same potato supplier as my favourite chippy. That's probably the case but I've never waited more than 10nmins there ever at peak. I left the food an average review but it was mostly about service for me. Thanks for the apology Charlie's, means alot...

In response to the most recent review left by joanne, i looked at the photo and wanted to comment that the batter looks golden, crispy and therefore it must be cooked. Even supermarket frozen fish in batter has the middle looking like this. I doubt that this chippy would serve undercooked food, they have a massive reputation.

I’ve been going here for a while now but recently the standards dropped off. The last chips I got at lunch time were re-warmed, hard and burnt. I would’ve taken them back but I only have some long for a lunch break. Will try elsewhere next time.

Best chippy The fish was tasty and crispy and the chips was fresh and nice definitely recommend this place 👌
