I have never had an experience quite like the one I had here. Everything was very special from start to finish. Visited with a friend who is a regular and wasn't completely sure what to expect but knew I was in for a interesting journey. We had the winter tea course which had a variety of different teas (both hot and cold) and various delightful wagashi. I can now see why my friend loves this place so much and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I recommend the seasonal tea courses for the full experience but I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you select. If you are after a peaceful atmosphere where you enjoy expertly prepared Japanese tea for nearly 2 hours, this is your place.

Honestly the rating for this place should be much higher! The whole experience was exceptional and more than worth the price. I bought my sister a voucher to take her and had high expectations based on the premium vibe - I was not disappointed. We booked in for the Saturday Silent service and the whole experience was very immersive- the owners quietly tell you about each tea and accompanying treat before serving and the attention to detail with the presentation is really impressive. The ceramics and glassware they use are absolutely gorgeous with the added touch of choosing your own matcha bowl for the service. The treats were also beautiful and really interesting and delicious. The experience gave me even more appreciation for the art of Japanese teas and I found it to be meditative, educational and memorable. I will be visiting again.

We visited Cha-ology last June for my birthday, specifically for the quiet tea time, and it was an incredibly authentic experience—especially since we had just returned from a trip to Japan. The lady who runs the service is incredibly knowledgeable and kind; you can tell she genuinely enjoys providing customers with the best possible experience and an accurate representation of Japanese culture. Anyone familiar with Japanese traditions knows the importance of putting away devices and being fully present in the moment. Their rules are more than fair and justified—disconnect from the outside world, immerse yourself in the experience, and you’ll appreciate it so much more. My husband and I had a lovely experience at Cha-Ology! We went for the silent experience and opted for the Haru menu. We’re both vegan and this was accommodated without a problem, and we were told that in fact a lot of Japanese sweets are already vegan so it didn’t feel like we were missing out. The pairing and presentation of the tea and courses were perfect. Staff were friendly and so keen to impart their knowledge of the items on offer, which they were clearly very passionate about. Sitting in silence with no distractions was easy in the lovely peaceful atmosphere, and we were surprised at how tranquil it was given that there was a main road just outside. We almost completely resisted taking photos to just enjoy the experience without technology, however when the Sakura Sakura was presented we couldn’t resist! Can’t wait to go again for future seasonal menus.

This experience was amazing!! I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday and he was so happy. We booked the casual tea time. The staff are lovely and talk through all teas and snacks in such detail, it’s amazing how they remember so much and are so knowledgable. The atmosphere is very calming and I have never experienced tea quite like it. We left feeling very calm and chilled out and wanting to experience it again! We also bought some chocolate. If you’re thinking of going then you should!! It’s well worth the money and a one-of-a-kind experience. Thank you Cha-ology!!
