Gaijin Dumpling House Levenshulme

First visit (and won't be the last) for a catch-up with my friends. It was very busy but luckily we were able to get a table for 3 without reservation. The menu is through their QR code but you place order with the staff (table service). We ordered Fried Chilli Honey Wings, Mee Goreng Chicken Katsu, The Mancunian, and Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings to share. The Fried Chilli Honey Wings, The Mancunian, and the Pan-Fried Chicken Dumplings are to recommend. Variety of textures and flavours. The Mee Goreng Chicken Katsu was still good but it wasn't what I expected - as a wife to a Malaysian husband and had tried many mee goreng in Malaysia - the noodle was definitely stirred than fried (goreng) and a runnier / thinner sauce would have been better than the thick curry (dip). Overall, very good service and we enjoyed the Asian fusion food. Would definitely come back again.

We've heard a lot of positive things about Gaijin from friends and social media. So after months of anticipation, did it live up to expectations? Absolutely! The food is authentic and you're hit with constant flavour bombs! The pan-fried dumplings are a must! As for the atmosphere and setting? Warm, homely and it has a very cosy feel to it. The service is also superb, all the staff were brilliant!

Cosey Chinese/ Malaysian fusion restaurant, it was busy on a Saturday night but the food was definitely worth the wait. Their bao buns and dumplings are popular. We tried the "lamb on crack" which was tender and perfectly cooked. Loved the chilli honey cavli. Portions are generous and the food came out piping hot. Service was friendly. Probably best to get a table near the door as it gets very warm nearer the inside. One thing to note is that they are cash only and parking is a bit difficult as it's on a busy street in Levenshulme. Booking recommended, especially on a Saturday night. Definitely worth a try
