Dinner at Jean Georges at The Connaught looks great and the service is polished but the food landed in the “good, not special” zone for me. The best thing I had was a small complimentary soup from the chef genuinely excellent, and I wish it were on the menu. Nice room, worth a try if you’re nearby.

Really enjoyed dinner here, sadly don't have a picture of the lamb chops but they were cooked and seasoned to perfection and couldn't recommend them enough. Our favourite starters were the crispy salmon bites aabd the tuna tartare. Service is great here as you'd expect and if you go for a drink at any of the Connaught's bars they are happy to move your drinks and tab with you.

⸻ Shockingly rude service at Jean-Georges at The Connaught Hotel. We cancelled our lunch reservation, called to confirm, and were told outdoor tables were walk-in only so no need to rebook. When we arrived, the hostess coldly said we could only stay for one hour. The staff rushed us, brought the bill without asking, and told us to leave — even though the terrace was almost empty and no one came to take those tables after we left. We had already reached the minimum spend, yet they still added a £24 service charge. When we asked for its removal, they sneakily replaced it with a “cover charge” for the exact same amount and suddenly raised the minimum spend from £60 to £65. The manager was arrogant, dismissive, and claimed he was “doing us a favor” by letting us sit at all. For a restaurant in such a prestigious hotel, this level of unprofessionalism and disrespect is shocking.

We came for high tea and thoroughly enjoyed the service, ambience and scones. The sandwiches were dry and tea selection/taste very average - surprisingly as one would expect perfection knowing that high tea for 2 (we didn’t have the alcohol) cost 200£. Overall an interesting experience but wouldn’t be rushing back.
