Tried Apna Lahori in Cheetham Hill for the first time this eve. The chicken curry was perfectly spiced authentic Punjabi/Lahori taste. The atmosphere was good, service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind. When packing leftovers, they even added extra food and roti, which was very generous. Highly recommended!

Lovely place and great food. Been here few times and love the quality of the food especially their samosa chaat taste delicious . Highly recommended

Really enjoyed my visit here. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were polite, helpful and made us feel very welcome. A lovely place overall. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

The food was super tasty and full of flavour. Everything we tried was just delicious. The staff were really nice and friendly too, great customer service. Overall an awesome experience  and definitely recommended.

Alif Grill

I was really disappointed with my visit to Alif Grill. The food did not taste fresh at all  it seemed like everything had been pre-grilled earlier and then just reheated when ordered. This made the chicken and meat extremely dry and hard to enjoy.

On top of that, they don’t accept card payments, which is quite unusual and inconvenient in this day and age. You can’t help but wonder why it’s cash only 🤔

The place itself felt quite messy — the tables were dirty, and it didn’t seem like the staff cared much about cleaning up between customers. The service was also very slow, and overall the atmosphere was uncomfortable. One older lady working there kept staring at us throughout the meal, which made the whole experience even more awkward.

Definitely not somewhere I’d visit again or recommend.

Been here twice now, food was not fresh and both times found a hair in my food. Respectfully told the owner/manager and got told ‘not possible you just want free food’… disgusting will not be returning.

We've been going to Alif for about 10 years now and there are 3 things that always remain the same:
The consistency of the taste is on point,
The freshness of the food is next to none and the service is always friendly.

Have tried the majority of the menu and can't fault it.

Found this place by mistake, but pleasantly surprised. Food is great, freshly made whilst you wait. Will definitely be back in the future, looks like they're on just eat so worth getting a delivery if you don't want to eat in.

1st time ever to Alif Grill. Absolutely fantastic food, if you want genuine Turkish food in town, this is the place. Good service and even better food. Their kofta kebab is well spiced and house sauces complement the whole dish. Great value for money. Will definitely be coming back to try something new of the menu 😊

THE most wonderful burger that I have ever eaten and the loaded fries that we shared were a guilty pleasure in themselves - layers of taste! Portions were generous, price perfect but most importantly such a friendly greeting with loads of guidance on the menu. Beautiful deserts too but I don't have room!!

First time trying the loaded fries and can safely say the best I've tried in Manchester! Portion size is very good for what you pay for and the service was fantastic! Definitely will be coming back!

First time coming here, and really enjoyed every aspect about this place. Food is fantastic, definitely worth the value unlike most places. Service is super friendly, particularly Umar; served with a smile and made me feel welcome. A lot of other people who work on the till don’t make you feel welcome; he did a great job. Definitely would come here next time I visit Manchester!

One of the Best burger in town, worth to try chicken/beef burger 10£, loaded cheese fries-8£ and icecream with dubai chocolate brownie -8£. Highly recommended for burger lovers.

Food itself was good, service was friendly and decent. Restaurant was cold and my daughter found a rubber band covered in hair on the ordering bar, I immediately asked her to bin it and wash her hands. Tables were not clean. There was fluffy and food crumbs in between the wood.

Today, all three of us suffered an upset stomach.

The burger wrapping could have been done with a different material. The burger juices were running down my hands as I was eating. So I tucked a napkin underneath.

Reluctant to go again.

Great Guys

The best loaded fries I've had yet. Incredibly tasty, good portion and fresh! The smash burger was good too, could do with a bit of crunch, maybe gherkins, tomatoes or lettuce but the patties were juicy.

Took nearly half an hour through Uber and the food was still hot! This is my new favorite place, will be trying out a lot of their stuff on the menu.

I don’t ever leave reviews but this place really deserves to be an exception. I just had the perfect burger and loaded fries I have probably ever eaten. 10 on 10. So much value for such a high quality meal.

My only 2 improvements would be add tomatoes and gherkins to the burger and make chips to order because they were slightly cold.

Very decent peri wings they were battered fried then flame grilled with peri sauce
Would of been 10/10 if it was grilled for longer with more charring and Smoky flavour.

Atmosphere & seating area could do with improvements.
There were so many tables that needs cleaning ,I think a bigger bin with a table on top would help customers clean after themselves and put there used plates on top would help keep tables clean. Also shop was sooooo quiet maybe a TV or nasheed playing would make Atmosphere more relaxed and welcoming.

Overall great place and definitely will be back iA

Tried the Smashburger at Great Guys, and wow, they know how to smash! Perfectly seasoned meat, all the classic toppings, and fries so crispy they might ruin other fries for you. The dining area could use a little TLC, but hey, we all know the more “rustic” the place, the better the food. Trust me, get yourselves there!

Ordered via the NeoTaste app and was told at the counter they don't do this anymore despite there being a sign on the door as a 'NeoTaste partner' and being able to reserve it on the app - anyways, the man let us have the deal...
The food was really nice and fresh hw, my halloumi burger only had the one beef patty (menu says it comes with 2) which was a little disappointing as I'd picked it specifically for double beef

A reasonable experience and good food despite the slightly incorrect burger contents!

Pizza 4 U

the food is amazing ethereal one hundred percent better than the rest the service is good the owner is very friendly although it takes a bit long it is worth  the wait

Alhamdulillah, very good, honest brother that runs it as well.

Called in as we hungry mid party. Owner is lovely and the pizza is out of this world!! Toppings galore and plenty of them! 5 stars from us!!!

Pizzas were delicious. The garlic base was next level, takes the taste to another level. The owner was is a very nice guy too.

This store was ran by a wonderful hardworking man who earnt a lot of respect over the years. A few years ago he passed away and now his useless son is the new owner.

He is basically running the store into the ground with the quality going downhill, and ruining his late fathers name and reputation with his diabolical and disgusting attitude!

As a loyal customer for over 15+years, I was not happy with the level of service and quality of the food recently.

Instead of taking constructive criticism from customers in order to make improvements, he became exteremely disrespectful, started shouting, screaming and swearing in front of other customers.

He clearly took offence as he knows he cannot run the place. Maybe if he layed off all the drugs and sorted his head out he might become half decent a man.

I told him that he needs to learn some respect and sort himself out, and that he is running his fathers name in the mud by behaving like this, and the buisness rep into the ground. He responded with 'he doesnt care' absolutely disgraceful. What a way to uphold your family reputation!

He continued being foul, and in the end I declined the food and walked out.

Really disappointed as his father (r.i.p) was a great man who built this business from scratch and earnt huge respect from us locals.

Its a real shame that his son is completely lost, has an appalling attitude, a foul tongue and is ruining the reputation his father built over so many years.

Literally have no words for such behaviour, and feel for those that have to deal with such scum on a daily basis.

Disgusting and vile human being.

Lahori Butt Karahi

Loved our visit to Lahori Butt Karahi!

This was my first time visiting, and we chose to sit upstairs — the décor was really nice and everything looked clean and presentable. It had such a warm, welcoming vibe.

We ordered the Lahori Channey, the family platter, the Lamb Karahi, and the Chicken Boneless Karahi. The food was honestly fab! Everything was full of flavour, and the meat was incredibly soft and tender. We also tried the mango lassi — it was a little on the thicker side, but the taste was really good.

I would definitely recommend eating here if you’re in the area, and I’ll 100% be coming back!

A straightforward, no-frills Pakistani restaurant spread over two floors - nothing fancy, just great food that clearly draws in the crowds. It’s always busy and understandably popular within the south asian (particularly Pakistani) community.

The 1kg boneless lamb karahi was truly outstanding - the flavours were bold, perfectly balanced, and authentic. The portion was generous, and every bite tasted freshly prepared and full of depth. Arguably the best curry I’ve had this year, and without question the place I’ll return to whenever I’m craving a proper karahi.

The meat seek kebab starter were good (I've had better) whilst the lahori chana was okay but not great. I probably wouldn't get that side dish next time. The naans were large and fluffy, complementing the karahi perfectly, and the prices are excellent for the quality and quantity served. Rice options are limited, but that’s a minor detail when the main dish delivers this well.

Service was fast, card payments are accepted, and overall, it was just what the doctor ordered.
Would I return? Yes - in a heartbeat!

The famous Butt Karahi is taste of Lahore. We had one Deer karahi, one chicken Karahi and one Malai booti. Taste is amazing. Food was well cooked and taste real Lahore. I had Deer Karahi after a long time and it tasted delicious.
This branch is very busy and the staff is very friendly.
Definitely recommend If you want to enjoy real Pakistani food (not Indian taste in the name of Pakistani taste)

The food was very tasty and good quality. The service provided could do with improving. We were served with a glass which was dirty. The napkin served with the cutlery wrapped around it has curry stains on it. The Food Hygiene rating sticker (rating of 3 as of April 2025) should be clearly showing to customers to give added confidence.

Visited 06/06/2025, went for evening meal and it was also Eid Al Adha so upstairs area was fully booked/reserved, so sat downstairs quickly by staff. Parking in front of location is very limited, however free parking in adjacent side street (avoid streets with yellow lines).

The menu is starters, karahis and specials and drinks, unfortunately the jug drinks were not available on day we visited apart from the Lassi drinks, which we ordered and was enjoyed. The 7 up mojito cans were interesting also. We were asked if all food at once or starters first then mains and we went separate. The family starter platter was just right for the five of us who went. When the mains came the special naan which was buttered and had sesame seeds on was lovely, one of the family who had been before had previously tried the lamb karahi and said it was off the bone, the menu did not state that the chicken was on the bone, so when it came out was slightly disappointed as was expecting it to be off the bone and not having to faff around, the salaan/shora sauce was nice with the dish. The whole chicken special is steamed before cooking and the meat was tasty and fell off the bone easily, worth getting if you go.

Pricing wise the dishes were reasonably priced and I’d say it’s worth trying this place out, just don’t expect it to be a plush restaurant, it’s basic tables, plates etc, this is made up for by the food and I’d specifically recommend checking when ordering dish next time if it is boneless.

Rating four out of five stars purely based on the main butter chicken karahi being not as good as it could potentially be as a boneless chicken, mainly as a lot of the substance of the dish is then bones as opposed to chicken meat.
